Apple today releases the third beta of iOS 18.6, along with several other updates. These include iPadOS 18.6 Beta 3, watchOS 11.6 Beta 3, tvOS 18.6 Beta 3, macOS 15.6 Beta 3, HomePodOS 18.6 Beta 3, and visionOS 2.6 Beta 3. Currently, the iOS 18.6 Beta is available to developers, but it will soon be released to public beta testers.
As expected, Apple continues enhancing iOS 18 with bug fixes and improvements while testing its next major release, iOS 26. The iOS 18.6 Beta 3 also focused on addressing bugs, security enhancements, and general performance improvements. If you’re still on the iOS 18 build and haven’t forgotten about it since the iOS 26 beta was released, then this update is for you.
The iOS 18.6 Beta 3 comes with build number 22G5073b, which indicates there might be one more beta build of iOS 18.6 before the release candidate. The update size varies depending on the device and the current update installed.
iOS 18.6 Beta 3 also brings a modem update that could fix the issues related to connectivity if you’re experiencing them. While there aren’t major enhancements in the update, it’s said to enable Apple Intelligence in China and potentially updates for App Store changes in the EU, related to sideloading.
As you may have already expected, the iOS 18.6 Beta is only available to eligible iPhone users who haven’t upgraded to iOS 26 Beta and have opted for the beta program in settings. If this applies to you, you can find the update in Settings > General > Software Updates.
Before installing the update, make sure to take a backup on iCloud or locally.
