Summarize This Article:

Apple has started the testing of the incremental iOS 26.6 upgrade; along with that, the tech giant has released the first beta of iPadOS 26.6, watchOS 26.6, macOS 26.6, tvOS 26.6, and visionOS 26.6. The new updates are expected to bring some new changes, enhancements, and fixes for known issues.

Apple plants the new first beta of iOS 26.6 to eligible iPhone devices with 23G5028e build number, while the Apple Watch picks up the new update with 23U5025e version number.

At the moment, the update is available to users who have joined the developer beta, with the first beta coming in at a size of 8.86GB on iPhone 15. The first beta of watchOS 26.6 weighs 640MB in size. The public beta release is expected to go live in a matter of time.

As always, Apple didn’t mention any changes in the release notes of the beta releases. We need to wait for a few hours to confirm the changes coming with the new updates. Talking about the recently released iOS 26.5, it comes with a good number of changes, including new Pride Luminance wallpapers, end-to-end encrypted RCS messaging, and various other improvements.

If you’ve already installed the iOS 26 beta, navigate to Settings > General > Software Update. The update will be labeled as iOS 26.6 Beta. If you’re using a public build, but want to switch to the beta build, select the beta updates option in Settings > General > Software update > Beta updates. Before installing an update, make sure to back up your device.
