Do you want to connect Steam Deck to TV? Many users want to enjoy their handheld gaming experience on a bigger screen, i.e., on a TV. If you are also one of them, this guide is made for you, as here you will see the steps to achieving it.
The Steam Deck is a handheld gaming console that runs on SteamOS, which is a customized version of Linux that can run Windows games, Steam games, and retro games. No matter why you wish to connect your Steam Deck to a TV, read on to check out the steps.
Connect Steam Deck to Smart TV
There are two ways through which you can connect the device to your TV: one is through HDMI cable and the other is, of course, wirelessly.
Using a USB-C to HDMI Adapter
Since the Steam Deck doesn’t have an HDMI port but a USB-C port, you can connect it to your TV with the help of a USB-C to an HDMI adapter. Follow the below steps to connect your Steam Deck to a TV via HDMI:
Step 1: Connect a USB-C to HDMI adapter to your Steam Deck. You can also use a USB-C dock instead that includes an HDMI port.

Step 2: Next, connect the HDMI cable to your TV.
Step 3: Plug the other end into the adapter.
Step 4: Turn on your TV and choose the HDMI input source to which you have connected the cable.
Step 5: Now, turn on the Steam Deck, and it should be mirrored on your TV.
Using the Steam Link app to Connect Wirelessly
You can also connect your Steam Deck to your TV wirelessly using the Steam Link app. However, you need to make sure that the Steam Link app is available for your smart TV; otherwise, you can’t connect the device wirelessly.
Step 1: Open the Steam Link app on your TV. Follow the on-screen instructions to connect Steam Link to Wi-Fi and sign in to your account.
Step 2: Now, turn on Steam Deck and connect it to the same network.
Step 3: On the Steam Link app, choose Steam Deck.
Step 4: The app will then give you a PIN to enter on your Steam Deck.
Step 5: Once done, the device will be mirrored on your TV.
Wrapping Up
So, these are the steps through which you can connect Steam Deck to your smart TV using a USB-C to HDMI adapter or wirelessly by using the Steam Link app.
In addition to the above methods, you can also use a Steam Deck Dock to connect your device to the TV. Just slot the device into the dock and insert the HDMI cable into both the dock and the TV. The one additional benefit you will get from the dock is that it lets you charge the device while you play games on it.
