Connect Sony TV to WiFi Network Running on Google TV OS
If you have one of the newer Sony smart TVs, these TVs will be running on Googleโs newest and latest Google TV OS. Google TV OS is the upgraded version of Android TV OS. Here are the steps to connect your Sony Google TV to a WiFi network.
- Power up your Sony Google TV and grab the remote.
- If your remote has the Setting button, press it.
- But, if your remote doesn’t have the Settings button, from the home screen of your TV, navigate and select the Settings gear icon.
- With the Settings menu open, navigate and select the Network and Internet option.
- Finally, select WiFi.
- Your Sony Google TV will begin to search for WiFi networks that are within its range.
- Once you find your WiFi network, select it and enter the password.

Connect Sony TV to WiFi Network Running on Android TV OS
Some older Android-powered Sony TVs will be running on Android TV OS. These TVs will be running on Android version 11 or so. While the steps for connecting your Sony Android TV to the WiFi network are the same as that of the Sony Google TV, the naming will be a bit different. Check out the steps below.
- Navigate to the Settings gear icon on the home screen that is at the top right corner.
- Now, select Network and Internet followed by Easy Setup, and finally, WiFi

- Now, choose Network, followed by Network Setup.
- Finally, choose Easy and then WiFi.

Connect Sony Older TVs to WiFi Network
If you have an older version of a Sony TV that is a bit older but can connect to the internet via WiFi, then you can follow these steps.
- Switch on your Sony TV and press the Home button on the remote.
- Now, select the Settings option followed by Network and then Network Setup.

- When you press the Home button, select the Settings menu.
- Choose Network followed by Network Setup.
- Scan for your wifi network and select it when you see it.
- Type in your password and you are now connected to the internet.
