Gemini Live is a two-way conversational AI assistant designed for natural, free-flowing interactions. Google introduced Gemini Live at the MadeByGoogle 2024 event, and later, the feature was rolled out to Gemini Advanced subscribers. The feature is embedded in the Gemini app.
Google has now started rolling out the Gemini Live for free to all Android users. You no longer need a Gemini Advanced subscription to experience the new AI assistant. Google announced this on X/Twitter.
โWe’re starting to roll out Gemini Live in English to more people using the Android app, free of charge. Go Live to talk things out with Gemini, explore a new topic, or brainstorm ideas. Keep an eye out for Gemini Live in the Gemini app.โ
Currently, the service is available in English. It should be available in other languages soon.
When Gemini Live was first released, it impressed everyone with its capabilities, but only those with a Gemini Advanced subscriptions could experience it. However, since there are no restrictions now, everyone using the Gemini app can get access to Gemini Live.
For those unfamiliar with Gemini Live, it is different than the standard Gemini app. Gemini Live lets you have two-way conversation. You can ask your queries as if you’re talking to a real person. Even with interruptions, Gemini Live can still understand your queries and respond accurately.
Gemini Live is available through the Gemini app which is available only on Android phone. Google is rolling out Gemini Live for Android for free in batches, so it may take time to roll out completely.
If you are an Android user, you can access Gemini Live by tapping on the speech icon available at the bottom right corner in the Gemini app.
