Google introduced a bunch of new AI features along with the new Pixel 9 series at the recent Made by Google event. Among these features, the most impressive feature was the Gemini Live, which lets you interact with Gemini naturally back and forth.

Earlier this year, Open AI introduced ChatGPT Voice Mode, which impressed everyone with its stunning conversation mode that feels more natural and respond with emotion and non-verbal cues. And Gemini Live is the Google’s answer to Open AI’s voice mode. Users can interact with Gemini bot more naturally through Gemini Live.
Gemini Live is quite different from Google Assistant, as you can have conversation as natural as talking to people. The new feature also include many natural-sounding voices. You can also interrupt it and pause the conversation and it will continue where you left. You can have the conversation even in the background and when the phone is locked.
How to Get Gemini Live on any Android Phone
If you are also impressed by the new Gemini Live feature and want to get it on your Android phone, then it’s quite easy. Remember that it works only in English for now.
- First, make sure to install the Gemini app and update the Google app on your phone.
- Gemini Live is exclusive to Gemini Advanced users, So you will need a Gemini Advanced subscription.
- Once you have a Gemini Advanced subscription, open the Gemini app on your phone.
- If you see an AI Voice like icon at the bottom right corner, then you have access to Gemini Live. If not, it will appear soon.
- Tap the icon, and it will launch Gemini Live.
You will get to choose your preferred natural-sounding voice from 10 new voices. After selecting the voice, you can interact with it. Now you have Gemini Live on your Android phone.
Google announced the Gemini Live in May 2024 but it was introduced with Pixel 9 on August 13. Soon after it went public, Gemini Live starts rolling out to more phones, even non-pixel phones. Many users have reportedly received the Gemini Live feature on their Android Phone.
If it is not available on your phone, it will be soon if you are a Gemini Advanced subscriber that cost $20 a month.
