How to Roll Back from One UI 8 Beta to One UI 7 Stable

Samsung has recently released the One UI 8 beta program for Galaxy devices. Currently, it is available only for Galaxy S25 devices, but Samsung might expand it to more devices in the future.

If youโ€™ve installed the One UI 8 beta on your eligible device but want to revert to the stable One UI, you can downgrade your device. There could be any reason to roll back such as you have completed your testing or because of major bugs.

If youโ€™re not familiar with the roll back process, Hereโ€™s a detailed guide on how to downgrade from One UI 8 beta to stable One UI 7.

How to Withdraw from One UI 8 Beta

To roll back your Galaxy phone to a stable version of One UI 7, the first step is to withdraw from the beta program. Hereโ€™s how you can withdraw from the One UI 8 Beta.

  1. Open the Samsung Members app on your Galaxy device.
  2. Tap on the One UI 8 beta where it says Joined.

  3. In the beta details page, tap on the three dots at the top right corner.
  4. Here you can tap on Withdraw/cancel and follow the on-screen instructions.

This will remove you from the One UI 8 beta program, and you will no longer receive upcoming beta updates. Your device is now ready for downgrading.

Downgrade from One UI 8 Beta to Stable One UI 7

In this process, weโ€™ll use the Smart Switch to roll back your phone from One UI 8 Beta. Downgrading your phone will reset it, so make sure to back up important data.

  1. Download and Install Smart Switch on your PC.
  2. Now connect your phone to your PC using a USB cable.
  3. Launch the Smart Switch on your PC, and it will detect your Galaxy device.
  4. Since the process will reset the device, use the Backup option to back up your device if you havenโ€™t already.
  5. After taking the backup, return to the appโ€™s main page. If your device is running a beta version, you’ll see a Downgrade option. However, if itโ€™s on an official version, it will display an Update option if an update is available.

  6. Tap on the Downgrade button and it’ll fetch the latest official One UI 7 build for your device, along with its build size.
  7. Tap on Continue > Confirm and wait for the process to complete.

Once the downgrade process is complete, youโ€™ll have official One UI 7 running on your device. However, your device will be like a brand-new device without any data. Thatโ€™s where your backup comes in.

Connect your phone to the PC and launch the Smart Switch. This time, use the Restore option and then choose the backup you want to restore.

Rollback using the Smart Switch is the official and preferred method. However, thereโ€™s also an unofficial method that involves using the Odin flash tool to clean flash the previous official build.

Thatโ€™s all on how to downgrade One UI 8 Beta to the official One UI 7. If you encounter any issues during the rollback process, feel free to share them in the comments section.
