Samsung has begun the rollout of One UI 7 after a delay of almost half a year. Although its rollout is yet to be completed, Samsung has already initiated the internal testing of One UI 8, which is expected to be released later this year. One UI 8 will be the next custom skin for Samsung Galaxy phones, built upon Android 16.
Here weโve compiled all the available information about the One UI 8. If you own a Galaxy smartphone and curious about Samsungโs next software update, One UI 8, you can check its release date, features, and eligible devices below. Letโs start with the release date.
One UI 8 Release Date
Samsung has confirmed that the stable version of One UI 8 will be released this summer. The initial rollout will be for the Galaxy S25, followed by other eligible devices.
The One UI 8 is expected to be officially released in July or August. This is the expected release window for the latest flagship, the Galaxy S25 series. Unlike last year, Google will release Android 16 much earlier this year. This means that other brands like Samsung will also adapt to this new schedule and release their next OS sooner.
As per some early reports and leaks, the One UI 8 beta will be available to Galaxy S25 users as early as May. Yes, the public beta could start within the next one or two weeks. This also support the previous statement that the One UI 8 stable rollout could start sometime in July or August, at the very least, for the Galaxy S25 models.
Samsung has already faced criticism over the delay in One UI 7, and they would want to avoid a similar situation with One UI 8. So, they are taking early actions to push One UI 8 testing.
