Are you eagerly waiting for the latest Android 16 update for your Asus phone? While the official release date and other information are not available, you can easily check if your Asus phone is eligible for the update. If you’re interested in exploring this further, here’s a list of Android 16-supported Asus devices.
Google released the latest Android 16 earlier this year, which marks a significant shift in the Android release timeline. Previously, the new Android OS used to be released in the third quarter, but this year, Android 16 was released in the second quarter.
While the change in release schedule is good for users, it will take time for other brands to adapt to this new schedule. This is why we haven’t seen major activity from other brands, including Asus, regarding Android 16. But we can expect the beta announcement soon. Stay tuned for that, as we’ll share it with you as soon as it’s announced. In the meantime, you can check if your Asus phone is eligible for the Android 16 update.
Android 16 supported Asus Devices

Asus didn’t disclose the list of devices eligible for the major update. However, we can use the update policy to identify devices that may receive the major update. Since Asus doesn’t have many devices like Samsung or Chinese brands, it’s quite easy to identify eligible devices. Here’s the list:
- Asus Zenfone 12 Ultra
- Asus Zenfone 11 Ultra
- ROG Phone 9 Pro
- ROG Phone 9 FE
- ROG Phone 9
- ROG Phone 8 Pro
- ROG Phone 8
Asus only offers two years of Android OS updates, even for its premium models, which is not enough in 2025. This means the Zenfone 10 and Rog Phone 7 lineup are no longer supported for the latest OS release, but these will continue receiving security updates for a few more years.
The Android 16 will be the last major upgrade for the ROG Phone 8 lineup. Since this list is based on the official update policy, so you can consider it accurate.
Android 16 comes with many new features and improvements, with more exciting features planned to be released soon, such as the hyped Material 3 Expressive UI. There are other features such as real-time notification updates, grouped notifications, stronger security, and much more. It is up to Asus’s hands what features it brings to its devices. So all we can do is wait for the official release.
