Yesterday, Google kicked off the Android 15 beta 2, fondly known as the incremental beta-quality release. Right after the announcement, Google shared a list of OEMs actively working on the Android 15 developer preview or beta for their devices.
Lenovo is one such OEM that has been testing the update on its tablets in the US and other markets outside China. If you own the Lenovo Tab Extreme and want to try out the newest Android operating system on your tablet, here’s everything you need to know.
Lenovo Tab Extreme Android 15 developer preview program is live for the WiFi variant with the “Lenovo TB570FU” model number. You can check the model number of the tablet on the retail box or in the About settings.
The company has clearly mentioned that the initial build is not intended for regular use, if you are a developer, you can sideload the preview build on your tablet. Here’s the list of known issues available on the first developer preview build.
- Face Unlock is not supported
- TOF sensor related function is removed
- Stylus key function is not supported but basic function works
- Touchpad functions with two fingers are not supported
- Touchpad swipe up/down/left/right with 3 or 4 fingers are not supported
- Miracast function is not supported
- Bluetooth headphones do not work properly when playing audio
- It does not respond normally when pressing the power button while inserting the charging cable in the powered-off state
- Screen output via cable (extended screen) can be supported when is turned on in developer menu
- VPN is not tested and may not work properly
- WIDI is not supported
- Video play may face audio issue
- Settings may display abnormal sometimes, re-selecting or cleaning recent apps can make it work properly
- One Vision is not supported
In terms of features and changes, then the upgrade bags April 2024 security patch, refined large screen device experience, app pairs support, more control over health and safety, improving accessibility options, and more.
