Finally, non-Pixel phones have also started joining the Android 15 beta testing. Following Nothing, Oppo announced Android 15 Beta 1 for two of its devices. OnePlus 12 and OnePlus Open are now eligible for the Android 15 Beta program. This is an early build and is based on OxygenOS 14.
Google began Android 15 testing with a Developer Preview in the first quarter. Later the tech giant released one more DP followed by a Public Beta and is now ready to release the second beta (released) on the second day of the Google I/O event. Like every year, non-Pixel devices start joining beta soon after the Google I/O event.
Before I share how to get Android 15 beta, I want to notify you that this is the very first build of the Android 15 beta for both phones, so there could be both major and minor bugs that might affect the device’s performance. Also, this build does not have every features of Android 15.

Known Issues for OnePlus 12
- There are some compatibility issues with the Bluetooth connection.
- In certain scenarios, Wi-Fi may not be able to connect to the printer
- The Smart Lock function cannot be used.
- Some camera functions display abnormally in certain scenarios.
- In some scenarios, the Multi-Screen Connect function is abnormal when connecting with PC or PAD.
- Some third-party applications have compatibility issues such as crashes
- Stability issues in specific scenarios.
- Personal hotspot may not work after modifying the security settings.
- The Auto Pixlate function fails during screenshot preview.
- After taking a photo, the photo does not show the ProXDR button.
Known Issues for OnePlus Open
- There are some compatibility issues with the Bluetooth connection.
- Some camera functions display abnormally under certain scenes.
- In some scenarios, the Multi-Screen Connect function is abnormal when connecting with PC or PAD.

- There are stability issues in specific scenarios.
- The split screen function of the main screen is abnormal in some scenarios.
- After taking a photo, the photo does not show the ProXDR button.
- Personal hotspot may not work after modifying the security settings.
- The Auto Pixlate function fails during screenshot preview.
- Long pressing the main body of a picture in Photos cannot trigger the smart select and cutout function.
- Creating the System Cloner and open, when input the main system password, it will crash to the desktop and the multitask button and home button are unavailable.
- The size of the drop-down status bar quick switch is abnormal after the screen resolution is switched between Standard and High. You can switch to the original resolution to restore it. (Method:Settings > Display & brightness > Screen Resolution > Standard or High)
Requirements:
- OnePlus 12 must be running 14.0.0.610 or below (Higher version is not compatible, you need to downgrade)
- OnePlus Open must be running 14.0.0.702 or below (Higher version is not compatible, you need to downgrade)
- Carrier TMO/VZW are NOT compatible with Android 15 Beta 1
- Take backup of your phone as the process will reset your phone

How to Install Android 15 Beta 1 on OnePlus
- Download the correct ROM file for your phone from links above. Copy the ROM to the Phone Storage, don’t copy it inside any folder. Users from NA can skip to step 4.
- Now enable developer options by going to Settings > About device > Version. Tap Build Number 7 times and you will see developer mode enabled message.
- Next go to Settings > About device > Up to date > Click the top right button > Local install. Locate and select the ROM package. Follow the on-screen instructions and install the package.
- NA Users: Install Updater app on your phone. Open the app > tap the gear icon > select the ROM package and wait for installation.
- After installing the update, Restart your phone and enjoy Android 15 Beta 1.
So this is how to easily install Android 15 beta on OnePlus 12 and OnePlus Open. You can follow this method for other OnePlus phone once there ROM packages are available.
