Star Wars games have been around for a long time. Some of the games have been an instant hit, while some, not. However, one particular Star Wars game is right now seeing an increase in player count. The game in question is Star Wars Battlefront II. Yes, a game from 2017 is finally seeing an increase in player counts in 2025.
The game, during its launch, didn’t get many players simply because of the annoying grind and the numerous microtransactions that plagued the game. With EA caving in and fixing those issues slowly, players have begun to enjoy playing Battlefront II.
So, why has Battlefront III suddenly become the talk of the world? Let’s dive in.
Star Wars Battlefront III: Is it coming?
With an increasing number of players for Star Wars Battlefront II, which is a very underrated game, a lot of players are now rallying around on the internet, asking EA to start work on the third Battlefront game.
Now, the last Battlefront game was released in 2017, and the Battlefront classic collection that was released in 2024, fans are hoping that EA is bringing out the third Battlefront game, as the demand for the game has become very high.
However, some of the fans don’t seem to like the idea of EA taking charge of bringing the third Battlefront game. The reason is that EA was trying to defend the microtransactions in-game and the pay-to-win system with Battlefront 2. Players fear that EA might bring back the grind mechanisms and the pay-to-win format, which will again ruin the game for a lot of the fans out there.
Will EA Ever Release Battlefront II?
With the internet rallying and online petitions being filed by millions of Battlefront fans around the globe, it is still just a dream. Nobody except EA and Dice Studios knows whether Star Wars Battlefront III will be a dream or a reality.
With the studios already working on Battlefield 6, it seems like a dream that will never switch to reality when it comes to bringing Battlefront III. However, one can hope that someday EA might officially reveal when work starts on Battlefront 3.
