In 2024, the developers revealed an Xbox Showcase trailer for the game. This trailer showed players the different kinds of zombies they would face and the different kinds of weapons they could use.

State of Decay 3 takes place in a post-apocalyptic open world, many years after the zombies have almost wiped out the humans. However, for those who manage to survive, more zombie threats are on the way, and it’s your task to take the zombies out with the help of your friends. This is a choice-based game, so whatever choices you make will end up affecting the game’s storylines.
If you lose a character during the battles, that character is gone forever, the skills and abilities as well. So making the right choices and decisions is very essential. Speaking of which, the developers have stated that State of Decay 3 will support online multiplayer modes where a maximum of four players can team up and take the zombies out. Together with your friends, you can build up your base based on your designs and choices.
When the game is released on PC and Xbox consoles, you can team up with your friends regardless of the platform as the game will have cross-platform multiplayer from day one itself. Even with Game Pass or Xbox Cloud, Gamers can team up with their friends and take the zombies together.

The developers haven’t revealed the system requirements yet. However, we can expect these details to be made public this year or anytime when they announce additional content for the game. Until the release date has been revealed, a lot of the key details will still be on hold.
