Samsung has officially announced that its first in-person Unpacked event of 2025 will happen in San Jose on January 22. The tech titan is expected to unveil the next generation of Galaxy S-series phones – the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+, and Galaxy S25 Ultra at the event.
As per the rumors, the next generation of Galaxy S-series phones will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy chipset. This year, we will see a redesign on the premium Galaxy S25 Ultra, with the phone is getting more rounded corners and flat sides.
Additionally, there are some fresh rumors pointing for the addition of Qi2 wireless charging to the Galaxy S25 line of phones. The recent press release by the Wireless Power Consortium has confirmed the Qi2 tech is coming to more Android devices in 2025.
Samsung says, “The exceptional Qi2 growth story will continue in 2025. You can expect to see Android devices supporting Qi2 from Samsung Galaxy devices in 2025.”

Samsung has shared a 16-second teaser for the next Unpacked event, teases the next-generation Bixby assistant and design of the upcoming devices. The event on Jan 22 starts at 1:00 PM EST, 10:00 AM PST, 6:00 PM GMT, 11:30 PM IST, and 5 AM AEDT.
We can expect Samsung to tease its slimest smartphone – the Galaxy S25 Slim at the end of the event.
