While 2024 comes to a close, that doesn’t put the world of smartphone launches to sleep. Samsung’s successor to the Galaxy S24 series is slated to release in 2025. Yes, the next top-level flagship smartphone from Samsung is closer than you think.

As it has been with every smartphone, people want to know what to expect from the new device. With such information, people can easily decide if they want to upgrade from their existing smartphone to the Galaxy S25 or if they should simply wait it out.

Here is everything that you need to know about the upcoming Galaxy S25 series including its release date, expected pricing, features, specs, and everything else in between.

Since Samsung hasn’t revealed any of the information officially, take all of this information with a generous amount of salt.

Samsung Galaxy S25 Release Date

Looking at how Samsung launched the Galaxy S24 series in January, you can expect Samsung to do the same with the Galaxy S25 series. Supporting this, a recent leak from renowned tipster Evan Blass (aka Evleaks) reveals a poster for the Galaxy Unpacked event, indicating a potential release date of January 22.

You will see the same pattern: delivery of pre-orders followed by a generally global sale at a later date. Samsung’s first Galaxy Unpacked event for 2025 will take place on the 22nd of January, 2025. Along with the launch of the Galaxy S25 series, we will see the official release of One UI 7 based on Android 15 as well as the new XR headset from Samsung called Project Moohan.

Samsung Galaxy S25 Rumored Specs

Samsung as usual will equip the Galaxy S25 series with Snapdragon’s latest 8 Elite SoC. Now, whether this will be a special Galaxy edition, only time will tell. While the US got the whole Galaxy S24 lineup with the Snapdragon SoC, other regions only got the Ultra with the Snapdragon chip; the base, and plus models were released with the Exynos SoC. If Samsung wants to bring success to the Galaxy S25 series this year, shipping the Galaxy S25 with the Snapdragon SoC will give Samsung a big win.

Samsung will continue to go ahead with the anti-reflective display that was previously seen on the Galaxy S24 Ultra. It would be meaningful if Samsung brought the same anti-reflective screen to the base and plus variants too.  Screen sizes and display resolutions will likely be similar to the previous Galaxy S24 series.

Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra Leaked Renders

As it is with almost any upcoming smartphone, dummy units as well as live hands-on of the Galaxy S25 Ultra got leaked. One change that can be seen according to various leaks on X (Twitter) and AndroidHeadlines with the new S25 Ultra is the shape.

Samsung Galaxy S25 Design

While the S24 Ultra came with a very boxy design, the Galaxy S25 Ultra has rounded corners – similar to what you would see on the Galaxy S25 and the Galaxy S25 Plus variant. Unlike the S24 Ultra, the S25 Ultra will now be easier to hold the device in your hands without having to worry about the hard corners poking into your palms.

We can also see the camera rings are now black, unlike the chrome rings seen on the Galaxy S24 Ultra, shared by u/GamingMK on Reddit. Samsung will continue with the flat screen display instead of the curved display. Regarding front and rear protection, the upcoming flagship is expected to feature Gorilla Glass Armor, which helps reduce scratches.

Samsung will continue with the titanium frame for the S25 Ultra to not only bring rigidity to the device but to also make the device feel lighter in hand.

Samsung Galaxy S25: Color and Storage Options

Color schemes for the S25 Ultra also continue to go with the Titanium moniker. Here are the various color options that will be available for the Galaxy S25 series.

  • Galaxy S25 and Galaxy S25 Plus: Silver Shadow, Navy, Mint, Ice Blue.
  • Galaxy S25 Ultra: Titanium White Silver, Titanium Silver Blue, Titanium Gray, and Titanium Black.

In the storage department section, you will get to see the S25 and the S25 Plus with 128GB, 256GB, and possibly a (Galaxy S25 Plus) 512GB storage option. Meanwhile, the Galaxy S25 Ultra will be available in 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB storage variants. In the RAM department, you can expect either 8GB or 12GB, depending on the model.

Samsung Galaxy S25: Connectivity Features

The Galaxy S25 trios will come with all the bells and whistles in the connectivity department that were seen on the Galaxy S24 series. However, it is yet to be known if the Seattleite Calling/Messaging feature will be debuted with the S25 series. Bluetooth 5.3, NFC, Ultra-Wide Band, and Wi-Fi 7 will be staples of the Galaxy S25 series.

We should also be seeing the dual SIM slot and dual eSIM support on the Galaxy S25 lineup. Apart from all the 2G, 3G, 4G, and 5G connectivity options, users will also get VoNR and Wi-Fi Calling support.

One UI 7 is currently under beta testing for the Galaxy S24 series in the UK, USA, Germany, Poland, India, and Korea.

Samsung Galaxy S25: Expected Pricing

According to the rumors, the Galaxy S25 series will be sold at the same launch price as the Galaxy S24 series. You can expect promotional offers and discounts across various regions for the Galaxy S25 series. Expect to see the storage upgrade option that lets you purchase, for example, the 256GB variant at the price of the 128GB variant.
