One UI 7 is currently in beta testing and is expected to be released in the coming weeks. Thanks to beta updates, we already know about some important features that will be included in One UI 7 update for Galaxy phones.
In addition to all the features explored in One UI 7, the update will also include filter notifications feature for Galaxy phones. With this new feature, One UI 7 will filter less important notifications and will club these notifications together, so they don’t clutter your notification space.
The amount of less important notifications sent by many apps is insane, but Samsung users will soon have a solution. The Filter Notifications feature in One UI 7 will help minimize the distraction by grouping notifications together. This feature was first spotted by FragmentedChicken in the second One UI 7 beta.
The Filter Notifications feature can be accessed from Settings > Notifications > Advanced settings. Here’s what the settings page says about the feature.
Filter notifications that are less important to you and show them as a group at the bottom of your notification panel.
Users will have the liberty to choose what type of notifications they want to filter. The options include Old notifications, Background activities, and Minimized notifications. Here’s what each options does:
- Old notifications: Filter notifications received more than a few days ago.
- Background activities: Filter notifications used to show that an app is running in the background.
- Minimized notifications: Filter notifications set to be minimized in notification category settings.
Since the less important notifications grouped under one notification space, users can tap on it to view all the notifications. This ensures you don’t miss notifications that the system may classify as less useful but are still important to you.
This is another great feature that Samsung is working on with the One UI 7 update. One UI 7 looks promising, but the wait is still on.
