Since September 2020, Oppo’s sister-brand Realme is working diligently on providing Realme UI 2.0 based Android 11 update to eligible Realme smartphones. The company pushed its Android 11-based skin most of the smartphones through closed beta, open beta, or stable channel. Realme officially announced its newest Android-12 based Realme UI 3.0 skin on October 13th. It is going to be the major upgrade for many Realme phones. Although, the company is going to start testing of its newest skin starting this month, but it seems that the access to the stable build will not be available till December in India.

Realme UI 3.0 is a big leap forward in terms of customization, the newest skin brings big changes to the user interface with new backgrounds, 3D acrylic icons, along with a couple of personalization options. Talking about the icons, then Realme UI 2.0’s icon received an update, as the architecture goes 3D with notable shadows and outlining. Realme also teases a new default wallpaper, we can expect a bunch of aesthetic wallpapers boarding with the Realme’s latest skin.

Talking about changes, then Realme will increase transparent effect in updated notification bar, it looks more similar to the Xiaomi’s control center. Google gives a refresh to widgets system to the Android, and the new widgets on Android 12 are great. And it is one of the major highlights of the Android 12 OS. Although, it remains to be seen whether Realme will also put some changes to it or it is going to be same as Android 12 default widgets, which we’ve seen in the Android 12.

New Animations

Realme introduced AI smooth engine with its Android 12-based Realme UI 3.0 skin. The AI engine reduces the power consumption by 12%, improving the app launching time by 13%, and minimizes the memory usage by 30%. Not only this, but the AI animation engine also improves the speed of gestures and other animations.

Improved Privacy and Security

Android 12 comes with a big list of privacy controls. Now users can see the camera or microphone icon on the top right corner of the screen when an app is using it. And the best thing is users can easily change the permission of the app by tapping on the camera or microphone indicator. Google also adds a Privacy Dashboard. This feature will show you details of any app that is using any permission like Camera, Microphone, Location, or any other sensor along with the timeline.

Apart from these changes, you can also access features such as Floating Window 2.0, Spacial Layout Interface in Settings, Phone Manager 2.0, Personalization in AOD, On-device app search, new emojis, improved auto-rotate, AVIF image support, and more. It also comes with the 3D avatar emojis dubbed as Omoji. Yes, you can use the essential features of Android 12 OS on Realme phones after upgrading to Realme UI 3.0.

Realme has also dropped the Realme UI 3.0 roadmap in its virtual event today. Obviously, it is a closed beta roll out plan.
