OxygenOS 11 Open Beta 4 update now available for OnePlus 7, 7 Pro, 7T, and 7T Pro

A few days ago, OnePlus released third OxygenOS 11 open beta for the OnePlus 7 Pro and 7T Series. The update came with a bunch of improvements on all three models. Last time, OnePlus skipped the update for the vanilla OnePlus 7. However, this time, the update is seeding for both the pro and non-pro variant, the changelog suggests that the newer update bags a list of improvements and bug fixes. The latest patch bags OP7_O2_BETA_4 build number on the OnePlus 7, the incremental OTA weighs around 247MB of download size, while the on OnePlus 7T is only 112MB. While, if you’re running on the stable version and want to sideload the latest open beta build on your smartphone, then it requires a chunk of data for sideloading the update.

Talking about the changes, then the update on OnePlus 7 comes with a bunch of different changes, the list includes fixes such as, slow charging rate, lagging issue in screen-recording, battery icon display issue, bluetooth issue, along with improved network connectivity.

  • Fixed the issue of slow charging rate in some cases
  • Fixed the issue where Voice Wakeup is turned off after a system upgrade
  • Fixed the lagging issue when playing screen-recorded videos
  • Fixed the small probability failure issue with the Double Tap to Wake
  • Fixed the issue that the battery icon in the status bar is abnormally displayed

Ambient Display

  • Always-on ambient display is available now (Go to: Settings – Utilities – OnePlus Laboratory – Always-on ambient display)


  • Fixed the silent issue when the Bluetooth transport protocol is changed to aptX or aptX Adaptive


  • Improved the stability of the Wi-Fi connection and reduce Internet outages

The update on the OnePlus 7 Pro brings fix for the abnormal behavior of battery icon and Bluetooth headset issue along with a few other fixes.


  • Fixed the issue that the battery icon in the status bar is abnormally displayed
  • Fixed known issues and improved system stability


  • Fixed the issue where Bluetooth headsets are silent in aptX Adaptive mode

Aside from the new changes, you can still use the basic features of Android 11. And the AOD feature is now available in the OnePlus 7 under Settings > Utilities > OnePlus Laboratory > Always on ambient display section.

If you’re using the OnePlus 7 or 7T series phone and facing any of the afore-listed issues, then you can simply update your smartphone to the newer build. If your device is running on the open beta, then you’ll receive the update via OTA, while if you’re running on the stable version then you can join the open beta program ant then update to the newer version.

Before updating your phone to the newer software, make sure to charge it to at least 30%, also take a complete backup of data.

To update your device from open beta to second open beta, you can head over to Settings > System > System Updates. It will search for the update and display the latest update. Click on Download & Install to begin the process.
