Oppo Reno 5 and Reno 6 get Android 12 based ColorOS 12 update

Just a few days ago, Oppo released the stable ColorOS 12 update for the Reno 5 Pro and Reno 5 Pro 5G. Now the company has started rolling out the final version to the Reno 5, Reno 5 Marvel Edition, and Reno 6. The latest update is seeding with a slew of new features, improvements, and fixes. Oppo has confirmed the rollout by sharing the information of updates on its community forum. At the moment, the update is limited to Indonesia, will also be available in other regions in the coming days. If you’re using Reno 5 series phone, then make sure your phone runs on A.28 or A.29 version. For Reno 6, the software version prerequisite is A.10 or A.11 build. Since this is a major update, the size of the update will be bigger. So make sure you use a WiFi connection to download the update.

Moving to the features and changes, then ColorOS 12 bags features such as improved UI, 3D textured icons, Android 12-based widgets, new features for AOD, new privacy controls, and many other features. You can also access the essentials of Android 12.

At the moment, the update is available to select Reno 5 or Reno 6 users. If you’re using any of these phones, then you can apply for the official version of ColorOS 12, to get the OTA quickly. It will take some time to be available for everyone. So, if you’re in a hurry, you can head over to the Settings > Software Update > ColorOS 12 Trial version, then submit the application.

Before applying the beta, make sure your phone is running on the latest software version and charged to at least 50%.
