Oppo Reno5 Pro and Reno5 Pro 5G get stable Android 12 Update

Oppo is now rolling out Android 12 based ColorOS 12 stable update for Reno 5 Pro 5G and Reno 5 Pro. The OEMs recently started rolling out the official update to Android 12 for a bunch of phones. Now two more Oppo phones join the list of phones with stable Android 12 update. We can expect the update to roll out to more Oppo phones in the coming weeks. Here you can find how to get the latest updates on your Oppo phone.

Earlier this year, Oppo shared the official rollout plans for both stable and beta updates. And as per the ColorOS 12 stable roadmap, the Android 12 update for Reno5 Pro and Reno5 Pro 5G arrived on the scheduled date. And so with these updates, now almost all devices have received the update that was planned for the Android 12 Stable rollout in January.

The Android 12 for Oppo Reno5 Pro 5G is now rolling out in India and Thailand. Whereas the Android 12 for Oppo Reno5 Pro is available in Pakistan. Both the updates carry the same build number which is C.14. Since it is a major update, you can expect the update size to be larger.

Talking about Oppo Reno5 Pro 5G Android 12 update features, it brings both Android 12 as well as ColorOS 12 features. Some of the new features include improved UI, 3D textured icons, Android 12-based widgets, new features for AOD, new privacy controls, and many other features.

The update will be available to users as OTA. And if you are an Oppo Reno5 Pro or Reno5 Pro 5G user in the mentioned region, then you can expect the update on your phone anytime. It is a staged rollout, which means the update can take some time to be available to all users. In case you don’t get the OTA update notification, go to Settings > Software Update. As usual, there is a required version to receive the update which is A.12/A.13. So if you haven’t updated your phone to A.12 or A.13, then make sure to update your phone to the required version.

Before updating your Oppo Reno5 Pro 5G to Android 12 based stable ColorOS 12 update make sure to take a full backup of your phone. Also, make sure to charge your phone to at least 50%.
