After the Oppo A73 and F17, Oppo finally rolls out the Android 12 based stable ColorOS 12 update for Oppo Reno 3 and Oppo Reno 3 Pro. The Android 12 beta program was released in April. So exactly a month later Oppo pushes the official ColorOS 12 update for both Reno 3 and Reno 3 Pro. Let’s find out more about the Android 12 update for Oppo Reno 3 and Reno 3 Pro.
Every month Oppo shares a roadmap in the first week that includes the rollout plan for Oppo devices. And almost every time Oppo delivers the update on the same day as promised. And Oppo Reno 3 and Reno 3 Pro getting the stable Android 12 update as planned. Oppo Reno 3 series was released in 2020 with Android 10 OS. Later the device received Android 11 as the first major update.
The Reno 3 series is now getting the second major update as Android 12. Android 12 for Reno 3 and Reno 3 comes with ColorOS 12 update which carries the build number F.30. Now talking about availability the Android 12 for Oppo Reno 3 is available in Indonesia whereas the Android 12 for Reno 3 Pro is available in India and Indonesia.
Android 12 based ColorOS 12 is a major update and hence you can expect many changes including new features and improvements. Some of the new features include inclusive design, 3D textured icons, adopts Android 12-based widgets, new features for AOD, new privacy controls, and many other features. Oppo also packed its skin with a big list of aesthetic wallpapers, you can download these walls right here. Apart from these changes, we can expect updated security patch levels.
If you are an Oppo Reno 3 user in Indonesia or Reno 3 Pro user in India/Indonesia then you should get the update soon. Like other Android updates, it is also rolling out in batches. This means some users might get it on the first day while some users have to wait for a few more days.
Note: The device must be running on the C.23 or newer build to get the Android 12 update. Also, take a full backup before upgrading and charge your phone to at least 50%.
You can also update your Reno 3 Series to Android 12 manually by going to Settings > Software Updates. And once the update is available click on Download and Install button.
