If yes, when will it get the Android 11 update? Here we are going to share all this information with you.

The latest Android 11 comes with OxygenOS 11 and the OnePlus 8 series is the first to receive the update. And if we talk about the OnePlus 6 and OnePlus 6T which released in 2018 with Android 8.1 out of the box. Later both phones received two major updates: Android 9 Pie and Android 10.

If you recall the OnePlus update policy that says, all the OnePlus phones will receive three major updates. Also, OnePlus has proved the policy to be true by releasing three updates to the OnePlus 5 series. This means the OnePlus 6 series will most likely get the Android 11 based OxygenOS 11 update.

So now it is mostly clear that the OnePlus 6 series will get the Android 11 update. But here another question arises that when the OnePlus 6 and OnePlus 6T will get the update.

If you read the OnePlus community expert comment they have mentioned that it can take a long time until we get an Android 11 update on the OnePlus 6 series. As we shared in one of our news articles that the OnePlus 7 series will get the Android 11 update next year.

It means the OnePlus 6 series won’t get the update this year. And if we go by OnePlus officials then it can take a long time. You can expect the update to release in Q2 2021. It is because the update will first roll out to OnePlus 7 Series, OnePlus 7T series, and OnePlus Nord.

Talking of the features, then the update will come with a new power menu, new UI for the weather app, a slew of Always-On Display function (including 10 new clock styles), notifications bubble, resize PiP videos sport, new icon shapes, enhanced security, and more. It also brings the newest version of Android – Android 11, along with its essential features.
