All updates to this story are being added to the bottom.

This News story was originally published on 12th October:

Last month, Google officially announced Android 11, and since then the update is due for most Android smartphones. A bunch of smartphone OEMs is testing the update on their smartphones, and OnePlus is one of them. Two days ago, OnePlus had released its newest OxygenOS 11 skin based Android 11 Update for OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro.

The company hasn’t shared the official roadmap of OxygenOS 11. As for now, there’s no information available about the OxygenOS 11 based Android 11 update for the last year’s OnePlus 7 series phones. But, fortunately, a moderator on the OnePlus Community forum has confirmed that the OnePlus 7 and 7 Pro won’t get the update this year.

When will OnePlus 7 Series get OxygenOS 11 based Android 11 Update?

Yup, you have to wait for 2021 to get the taste of OxygenOS 11 based Android 11 update. The OnePlus 7 series will get the newest OxygenOS 11 update in 2021.

We can’t predict the actual release until the availability of the OxygenOS 11 Roadmap, which is officially shared by the company itself, not by a moderator. It is possible that the device can receive updates early. But, if the moderator is right, then maybe the company will take some more time to push it to their older phones (like OnePlus 6).

Talking of the features, then the update will come with a new power menu, new UI for the weather app, a slew of Always-On Display function (including 10 new clock styles), notifications bubble, resize PiP videos sport, new icon shapes, enhanced security, and more. It also brings the newest version of Android – Android 11, along with its essential features.
