One of Motorola’s best-selling devices from 2024 has begun receiving its final major software upgrade. Yes, I am talking about the Moto G85. The phone has started receiving the much-awaited Android 16 update with a host of new features and improvements.
Motorola is rolling out the Android 16 update for Moto G85 with W1UO36H.35-39 software version. The update is currently in its initial rollout phase and will be available to everyone in the coming days. Some users had already received the update. Here’s a screenshot shared by Reddit user Even-Championship886. The user has confirmed that the update is currently live in Chile.
Moto G85 was launched in 2024 with the Android 14 operating system. Last March, the phone received its first major software upgrade – the Android 15 update, and now is the time for the final upgrade. It comes with a bunch of new features, enhancements, and fixes.
Talking about other features and changes, we can expect support for Android 16 features like Live updates, Desktop Window, Group notifications, New Emojis, Embedded Photo Picker, APV codec support, Predictive Back upgrades, HDR screenshots, Advanced Protection Mode, and more.
If you own the Moto G85, you can upgrade your device to Android 16. To do so, navigate to Settings > System > Advanced > System updates and tap “Check for updates”. Please take a backup before updating your phone and charge it to at least 50%.
