iPhone Fold and iPhone 18 Pro specs and details surface

Summarize This Article:

Apple is rumored to introduce its first foldable phone alongside the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max this Fall. On the other hand, the base model, along with the iPhone 18e and iPhone Air 2, is expected to launch in the following Spring. This marks a big change in the iPhone release timeline.

Jeff Pu, a GF Securities Analyst, recently shared technical details about the iPhone Fold and iPhone 18 lineup in an investor note.

According to Pu’s report, the iPhone Fold will have a large 7.8-inch internal display and a 5.3-inch cover display. Whereas the iPhone 18 Pro will feature a 6.3-inch display and the iPhone 18 Pro Max will feature a 6.9-inch display.

All three models will be powered by the A20 Pro chipset, which is Apple’s first 2nm chipset. They also share the same 12GB LPDDR5 RAM.

As usual, the iPhone 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max will share the same camera setup, a 48MP main camera with variable aperture, a 48MP periscope camera, and a 48MP ultrawide camera on the rear. On the front, there will be an 18MP selfie camera. Whereas the iPhone Fold will have a 48MP main camera and a 48MP ultrawide camera. Like other foldables, it will also have two front cameras, both with a 18MP sensor (folded and unfolded).

The iPhone Fold will rely on Touch ID instead of Face ID. The report also mentioned a smaller dynamic island on the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max.

These upgrades will help iPhone devices with more advanced on-device AI processing. Earlier this week, Google also confirmed that Siri will be powered by Gemini, which will significantly improve the AI capabilities on iPhones.

While there’s still some time before these devices launch, we can expect new information about them to surface frequently. Those interested in the base model may have to wait a bit longer this time.
