Apple has started testing iOS 18.3 and has released its first beta to developers. This could be the last update of the year, if there are no critical bug fixes required in the iOS 18.2 update, released last week.
As we move into the third major update of iOS 18, we can only expect a smaller set of changes compared to iOS 18.1 and iOS 18.2. However, the update is likely to bring improved performance, stability, and a few new features.
Along with the first iOS 18.2 Developer Beta, Apple also released iPadOS 18.2 Beta 1, watchOS 11.3 Beta 1, tvOS 18.3 Beta 1, macOS Sequoia 15.3 Beta 1, macOS Ventura 13.7.3 RC, and visionOS 2.3 Beta 1.
The iOS 18.3 Developer Beta 1 comes with build number 22D5034e. As of now the public beta is not available. It could release later this week or maybe after this holiday season.
As for the new features, the iOS 18.3 Beta 1 doesn’t bring anything major but there are some changes and improvements in the already available features, such as icon changes and other minor changes. We can expect some real new features in the second beta.
Since the first iOS 18.3 Beta is available to developers for now, you need to select developer beta option in Software Update to get this build. But the second beta won’t be coming anytime soon, I’d recommend skipping the first beta as bugs or issues may affect your holiday experience.
As usual you can update your iPhone to latest beta by going to Settings > General > Software Update.
