Apple introduces the seventeenth iteration of its iPhone operating system, iOS 17, during its annual developer conference, WWDC in 2023. The iOS 17 brings a visual overhaul to the Phone and Messages app, a new full-screen experience with StandBy, NameDrop to share contacts quickly, Interactive widgets, a new Journal app, and more.

iOS 17 – Quick Preview

The first day of WWDC 23 was filled with thrilling announcements, such as the introduction of Apple Vision Pro, the unveiling of iOS 17, iPadOS 17, watchOS 10, the reveal of new Macs, and much more. Before moving to the wallpapers section, here’s your quick look at the new iOS 17.

iOS 17 brings a visual overhaul to three main apps on the iPhone – Phone, Messages, and FaceTime. Phone app gets Contact Screen which lets users customize the call screen just like the lock screen with the ability to change font style, color, weight, and more. Live voicemail is another feature coming with iOS 17, you can see the live transcript of the message without picking calls during meetings or when busy.

Apple updates the chat screen on Messages, all apps can now be accessed by tapping the new plus button. Messages also get search filters, swipe to reply, live stickers, and more. On FaceTime, you can record a video or audio message when someone misses your FaceTime call. The app is also available on Apple TV, you can use your iPhone as a camera and start a call from FaceTime on Apple TV.

StandBy, whether your iPhone is charging or you put it on a mount stand in Night, you will get a new full-screen experience on the lock screen. iOS 17 also brings interactive widgets. The company is even expanding the collection by introducing the new Kaleidoscope category to the Wallpaper gallery.
