iOS 14 Beta 2 and iPadOS 14 Beta 2 updates are available

The iOS 14 announced last month and the first beta rolled out on the same day but it was only available for developers. And now after two weeks, the second beta is now rolling out for developers. Public beta testers have to wait for a few days more. So if you don’t have an Apple developer account but want to try the iOS 14, then stay in touch with iOS News. Here you will know how to install iOS 14 Beta 2 on supported iPhones and iPadOS 14 Beta 2 on supported iPads.

The second iOS 14 beta & iPadOS 14 Beta are pushed mainly for the bug fixes and performance boost. So if you had bugs in the iOS 14 beta 1 then we can expect some bugs to be squashed in this update. There is nothing new that we get to experience in the iOS 14 Beta 2 and iPadOS 14 Beta 2. Both iOS and iPadOS updates generally receive the same feature so anything that I am going to mention for iOS 14 will also be applicable for iPadOS 14. iOS 14 Beta 2

Apple has also released watchOS 7 Beta 2, tvOS 14 Beta 2, macOS Big Sur Beta 2 along with the iOS 14 Beta 2 and iPadOS 14 Beta 2. The update is available in 600MB+ size but does not contain many new features. But still, there are some new features that we will share in the next section. The second beta comes with Software Version 18A531i. There is a chance in the network and connectivity fix if there is any bug because iOS 14 Beta 2 comes with the modem update.

iOS 14 Beta 2 – Features

Files Widget – Apple introduced the Widget feature with the first beta of iOS 14. And in the second beta update, they have added a new Files widget which allows you to access recently used files. You can choose the size of Files Widget as per your convenience.

Calendar Icon – The calendar icon has been modified in the iOS 14 Beta 2 and it looks cleaner and better than before.

Incoming Call UI – The iOS 14 Beta 2 comes with rearranged incoming call UI settings where we get the grouped options to access Notification, incoming calls, and Announce calls.

Cover Art options – With iOS 14 Beta 2 we can now turn off or turn on the Animated Cover Art or Album art in Music. You can access it from Settings > Music > Motion.

So these are some new features that I notice in my limited usage. But if we explore deep we can find a few more minor changes. Now let’s see how to get iOS 14 beta 2 or iPadOS 14 beta 2.

Apple has done a lot of improvements in the second beta and it is now stable and smooth. If you used the first beta then you will definitely notice the smoothness. If you wanted to try iOS 14 beta but move back because of bugs then you will be satisfied with the second iOS and iPadOS beta. Apple did a great job by adding features like PIP mode, widgets, CarKey, App Library, and more. This gives us more options for customizing our iPhones and iPads as we want. If you have seen an Android homescreen setup that is made using a widget and want the same on your iPhone then iOS 14 will fulfill your dream.
