Among the thousands of tools, ChatGPT and Google Gemini are arguably the most widely used and popular AI tools. However, there are tons of other AI tools that can be very useful to you. As a student, I use a lot of AI tools. These tools not only help me with my studies but also boost the overall production if used the right way.

Perplexity AI is a search engine cum AI chatbot and it’s among one of my favorite AI tools ever made. Whenever I have to look for resources for my college assignments, or maybe just to do some research, I always use Perplexity AI.

This tool ensures that I get the to-the-point answer to my question along with proper sources and a detailed explanation. Regular search engines just provide you with the articles and resources related to your search query, however, Perplexity AI provides you with in-depth AI-generated answers for your query which can be very useful at times.

Of course when talking about an AI tool that focuses on overall utility rather than one specific task, then ChatGPT or Gemini would always be my favorite. Both of these are multi-purpose LLM-based AI chatbots which you can use for numerous tasks.

You can use these chatbots to summarize your PDF notes or to generate a code for your Python script. You can also use them for asking general questions to maybe to explain you certain topics from your syllabus. I use ChatGPT for asking questions related to my syllabus and Gemini for research purposes.

You might have heard the name of this tool for the first time. It’s not very popular, unlike ChatGPT or Gemini, but believe me, it’s damn useful. Our professors keep taking online classes every once in a while to explain certain topics.

In such a case, Otter AI acts as my perfect companion. You can paste the link of the meet in the Otter AI and its bot will join the meet and will provide you with the transcription and summary of what exactly happened in the online class. It is compatible with Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, and Zoom. And in my usage, I have found it to be quite accurate.

Gamma AI

This is also among the most powerful AI tools I have ever used. Gamma AI is specifically meant for creating PPT presentations. Being a college student, I have to prepare a PPT presentation almost every month for my subjects, as it is a part of my syllabus. This is the case with almost all the high schools and colleges. So if you also want to make a good-looking PPT, then you can surely use this Gamma AI tool.

Gamma is free to use and does not require any expertise. Only enter the prompt and number of slides required and it will present you with the final output. However, you may feel that the “content” inside the PPT is missing or is not adequate, so in such cases, you can later edit the PPT to add more details and other stuff. But it will get 70% work done in most cases.

Grammarly is a pretty popular tool. I use this tool for cross-checking the grammar and other readability errors in my written presentations, thesis, and speeches that I have to present in class. It’s free version is nearly perfect for a student like me.

All you have to do is simply copy or write down the text in the platform and it will automatically identify all the errors. Not only that, you can also fix those errors by simply clicking on the underlined words. Using Grammarly ensures that all of my assignments and college tasks are error-free.
