Google is all set to launch Pixel 4 (already released), And this time the Pixel device comes with the dual-lens camera setup. And the Google Pixel 4 is bundled with a newer version of Google Camera app, the Google Camera 7.0 (updates available). And It brings some really cool new features to the camera app. The new app comes with features like the anticipated astrophotography, the main UI of the app goes transparent, enhanced Night Sight, Motion Blur, AR Photobooth, Audio Zoom, and a few other features. Google Camera 7.0 is one of the most significant updates to the last year’s Google Camera 6.1. This time the app comes with some beneficial features and brings enhancements to the older features. Note:ย Make sure to download the original GCam port if you’re using previous-generation Pixel devices. For non-Pixel devices, download the mod port version of GCam.

How to Enable Google Camera Astrophotography Feature on GCam Mod

  1. At first download the Google Camera 7.0 or higher version for your smartphone.
  2. Once done, install and open the App.
  3. On the home screen of the GCam, the default interface is set for the Main Camera.
  4. To enable Astrophotography, switch to Night Sight.
  5. In Night Sight, click on drop down menu which will be on top. Enable Astrophotography in Google Camera 2020
  6. Then enable the Astrophography option. Also, set time if the option is available.
  7. And that’s all, now you can directly take photos with Astrophotography enabled.
  8. That’s it.

Now you can capture astrophotography shots directly from your smartphone. The feature is working perfectly if you’re using the tripod. So start capturing the amazing astrophotography shots.

    • Hey Remesh,

      The Infinity focus mode enables the astrophotography feature. To enable the infinity focus, Open GCam app > Head over to the Night Sight Mode > Swipe down the Settings > set focus to Infinity.

        i am using realme xt.
        installed the gcam mod that you gave on a previous thread related to gcam on realme xt (MGC-7.0.009_MiIXSE.RPII.MiVIII_V0.apk)
        the swipe down menu on night sight mode does not show the focus option. i can see options for timer, flash and ration on the menu not able to see the focus option. should we change any option of the setting to get that?

      Please download the latest mod port (PMGC_7.0.009_FinalBuild_V14.apk) from the above download section, the astrophotography mode is enabled by default on this GCam port.

      Can you please tell me which mod port are you using? BTW, on some GCams the developer options is available in settings and while in some It is available under About section.

    using realme xt. tried using this mod MGC-7.0.009_MiIXSE.RPII.MiVIII_V0.apk .astrophotography feature is not working in this.changed the cuttle settings in setting,still no result. also didnt find the focus option in swipe down menu. tried the mod by by Parrot043 but the app is closing once permisions are given. please update when you find a gcam that works with realme xt that has astrophotography feature.

  3. Using Redmi Note 7. Done all the settings after downloading from this page. No astrophotography working. Can you confirm that astrophotography works on Redmi Note 7?
