The leak contained the development and alpha stages of the game. While Rockstar did acknowledge the leak, they assured the public and the fans of the franchise that there was no change in the development, and neither was there any delay with regard to the game.
Let’s take a look at everything we know so far about the upcoming Rockstar games’ open-world game – GTA VI.

Grand Theft Auto VI (GTA 6) Trailer
Towards the end of November 2023, Rockstar Games revealed that they would show the world the first look at the game that they have been working on for years. While the trailer was supposed to be released on December 5, 2023, someone took it into their own hands and leaked the trailer. Hence Rockstar Games was forced to release the trailer as early as they could.
The trailer is now live on Rockstar Games’ official YouTube channel. You can check it out here. Looking at the trailer we get to see a view of Vice City as well as the opening scene where Lucia, the main protagonist of the game, is in a high-security prison. By the looks of this, we might have to begin the game by breaking out of prison.
Now, we also get to see the better part of the new Vice City game that Rockstar has been developing for many years. The game has new animals such as flamingos and alligators. The game also shows you the parts of the original Vice City game such as the iconic Ocean View road with all of the classic cars lined up.
Apart from all of this, the game also has a strip club, a nightclub off-roading events, and a bike gang that continues to terrorize Vice City. You can also expect to be pulling your boat on a trailer and then lowering into the sea just to cruise around. The game also has a social media platform where influencers can be seen using their smartphones to record videos, something like a mixture of Instagram and TikTok.
Update on November 8: Sam Houser, the President of Rockstar Games, has officially confirmed a new GTA game via the official Rockstar Games Twitter account; also confirmed trailer release early December.
Update on November 8: According to Bloomberg News, the announcement for Grand Theft Auto VI is expected to take place anytime this week (Nov 6 to Nov 10). And the trailer will release in December during Rockstar’s 25th anniversary. Sources that are close and familiar with the event have anonymously reported it to Bloomberg. This leak comes in line with Rockstar Game celebrating its 25th anniversary next month.
Grand Theft Auto VI, like all the other games in the franchise, will be an open-world game. You will be able to do everything you could in GTA V, but expect some more additional things in GTA VI. What those things are, we can’t be sure at the moment, but, we can all be hopeful that there are interesting things being cooked by Rockstar Games, and there is no denial about it.
For starters, GTA VI will be the first game in the franchise that lets you choose between playing as a male or a female protagonist.
From the massive leak that took place in September last year, the female protagonist for GTA VI is called Lucia. How do we know that the name is Lucia? Well, the audio description for the supposedly coming soon GTA VI trailer was recently leaked and the description talks about a Lucia in the game.
According to the person who has provided the audio description to the world, the teaser for GTA VI is slated to be revealed on the 26th of October, 2023. So, with a handful of days left, we could be able to get a glimpse of the next GTA after numerous years.
GTA VI Release Date – When Does GTA 6 Coming Out?
According to the first trailer that has been released, Grand Theft Auto VI is expected to come out in 2025. Yes, it’s quite far away and will be available for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
In terms of the PC side, you can expect the game to be released later in 2026. The PC version of the game will first be available on the Rockstar launcher and then might later come to Steam and the Epic Games Store.
The reason why this game is being released in 2025 is simply because Rockstar Games wants to ensure that there are no bugs, issues, and other problems that could be the cause of a disastrous launch for the game.
The reasons for a year-long PC release are simply so that Rockstar Games can make enough money from the console versions. You see, the moment they release the C version of the game – there will be people out and about ready to crack the game. Hence the one-year gap between the console release and PC release.
This isn’t confirmed, but you can expect it as this was the same thing done when Rockstar Games released GTA V 10 years ago.
Grand Theft Auto VI: Where Does It Take Place?
GTA VI will be taking place in Vice City. Since it will be in Vice City, you can expect the game to be taking place in the 80s. You know, discos, clubs, and neon-lit signage that shine through the night. Now, whether it will be a modern 80s-style world or if it will be something more modern than anything to do with the 80s style, we will have to wait and see. If it does take an 80s-styled theme, you can expect a large number of synth-wave and synthpop music tracks for the in-game radio stations.
Grand Theft Auto VI: What Platforms Will It Be On?
Rockstar knows what needs to be done and how it needs to be done. The game will be playable on PC and most probably new generation consoles from Sony and Microsoft. So yeah, PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One, along with the Xbox Series S owners might not get to enjoy the highly anticipated Grand Theft Auto VI game.
Do note that this is not confirmed, so wait around until Rockstar officially reveals the details and system requirements for the game. On the PC side of things, the game will be exclusive to the Rockstar Games launcher and then probably after a few months, you will be able to purchase the game via the Epic Games store and Steam.
With regards to cloud gaming, there doesn’t seem any future or hope for the upcoming GTA VI game to be featured there.
Grand Theft Auto VI (GTA 6): Price Leaks
As and when GTA 6 comes out, it’s best to be prepared with the high price tags that it’ll be coming with. Expect the price tag of anywhere between $70 to $90 for the standard edition or for the standard as well as an online game mode. If there will ever be any additional DLCs or shark cards, expect them to be pricey.
