The fourth beta of iOS 18.5 is now available to developers. The new beta is available to eligible iPhone models, including iPhone Xr and newer models. With the new beta, the iOS 18.5 public release is now closer than ever.
Along with the iOS 18.5 Beta 4, Apple also released iPadOS 18.5 Beta 4, watchOS 11.5 Beta 4, tvOS 18.5 Beta 4, macOS 15.5 Beta 4, HomePodOS 18.5 Beta 4, and visionOS 2.5 Beta 4. Both iOS 18.5 Beta 4 and iPadOS 18.5 Beta 4 come with build number 22F5068a.

As the build number ends with ‘a’, this might be the last iOS 18.5 beta update. The next update could be the release candidate, followed by the public release of iOS 18.5. Considering that Apple has already started preparing for iOS 19, new features will likely be reserved for it. So, donโt expect major changes in iOS 18.5 update.
As youโre aware, when an update is close to public release, Apple focuses more on bug fixes over new features and changes. Since the fourth beta might be the last beta for iOS 18.5, it doesnโt include any major changes. However, there are some minor changes here and there. Once I go through the update and gather feedback from other users, Iโll compile them into a list below.
- It’s mostly a bug fix update
- The new beta hints at two new upcoming wallpapers
The iOS 18.5 Beta 4 is available to developers and will soon be released to beta users. If you have an eligible iPhone and opted for the beta, you can find the update in Settings > General > Software Update. Itโs recommended to take a full backup of your phone before installing the update.
