These iPhone models may not get iOS 19 – Check the List!

Apple has announced the WWDC 2025 event, which will be held during the week of June 9. This means the developer testing of iOS 19 will begin in just two months for eligible models.

Although Apple doesn’t officially release the list of eligible devices before the official launch, rumors often reveal this information early. There’s a rumor that iOS 19 may drop some models from eligibility.

iPhone that may not get iOS 19 (Expected)

Here are the iPhone models that won’t receive the iOS 19 update (rumored):

  • iPhone XR
  • iPhone XS
  • iPhone XS Max

Among all the iOS 18 eligible models, these are the oldest ones, having been released over six years ago in 2018.

The rumor comes from a private X account that has shared various accurate information about iOS in the past. Considering the credibility of the account and the fact that these models are quite old, this rumor could be legit.

Since the mentioned three devices are no longer expected to be eligible, this could potentially be the list of iOS 19 eligible devices.

  • iPhone 17 lineup (upcoming)
  • iPhone 16e
  • iPhone 16
  • iPhone 16 Plus
  • iPhone 16 Pro
  • iPhone 16 Pro Max
  • iPhone 15
  • iPhone 15 Plus
  • iPhone 15 Pro
  • iPhone 15 Pro Max
  • iPhone 14

  • iPhone 14 Pro
  • iPhone 14 Pro Max
  • iPhone 13
  • iPhone 13 mini
  • iPhone 13 Pro
  • iPhone 13 Pro Max
  • iPhone 12
  • iPhone 12 mini
  • iPhone 12 Pro
  • iPhone 12 Pro Max
  • iPhone 11
  • iPhone 11 Pro
  • iPhone 11 Pro Max
  • iPhone XS
  • iPhone XS Max
  • iPhone XR
  • iPhone SE 3
  • iPhone SE 2

There was a rumor from iPhoneSoft last December that all iOS 18 eligible models would also be eligible for iOS 19. They have a good track record of sharing accurate information. However, given that four months have passed and only two months remain until the iOS 19 announcement, the latest rumor could be true.

Apple will reveal the official list during the WWDC event. So wait for the event for full confirmation on eligible devices.

The iPhone Xr, iPhone Xs, and iPhone Xs Max have received six major iOS updates since their launch. This is still a good number of updates for a device. These models will continue to receive iOS 18 updates, even if they are not eligible for iOS 19.
