Apple releases iOS 14.0.1 and iPadOS 14.0.1 Public Stable update

Early this week it was expected that Apple will release the iOS 14.1 and iPadOS 14.1 update to fix known bugs in iOS 14. They didn’t roll the iOS 14.1 but today Apple has released iOS 14.0.1 and iPadOS 14.0.1 update that comes with some bug fixes. So if you have any bugs on your iPhone or iPad then it should be resolved in this update. Here you will know how to download and install iOS 14.0.1 and iPadOS 14.0.1 update.

If you like to try beta updates then you must be aware of the ongoing iOS 14.2 Beta and iPadOS 14.2 Beta. It comes with a lot of changes in UI and Apple will release this to the public later maybe with iPhone 12 launch as this is a big update. But for now, Apple has pushed iOS 14.0.1 and iPadOS 14.0.1 to provide a seamless and bug-free experience.

Along with iOS 14.0.1 and iPadOS 14.0.1, Apple has also released tvOS 14.0.1, watchOS 7.0.1, and macOS 10.15.7. All these updates are pushed with small changes and bug fixes. So if you have any issues in iOS 14 or other updates then you can update your device to fix it. The update is available under 200MB for all devices and comes with build version 18A393. We haven’t seen modem updates in the past few OS updates. But with this update, Apple has also made some changes in Modem firmware that will fix the connectivity issues if you have any. This modem update is only for some particular devices like iPhone 11 Pro Max.

Fixed News Widgets – In the iOS 14 update some users reported that they are not able to see preview images of News articles in the widget. Apple has fixed this issue with iOS 14.0.1 and iPadOS 14.0.1.

Fixed Camera Preview – Some models had issues with showing preview in the camera app. And with this update, you can expect it to be fixed.

Default Web browser – There was a common issue related to default apps. Whenever we set a third-party browser as default after restart it changes back to the previous browser. This update has fixed this issue.

Mail Fix – If you were not able to send email in iOS 14 or iPadOS 14, this update should fix the issue.

Download and Install iOS 14.0.1 and iPadOS 14.0.1 Public

The update has been directly released for everyone without any beta update. This is a minor update with only bug fixes. So if you have any bugs on iOS 14.0.1 then you can simply update your device.

In case if you are already in the iOS 14.2 Beta or iPadOS 14.2 Beta then you need a computer to roll back to the iOS 14.0.1. Otherwise, you can easily upgrade your device from settings.

  1. Connect your iPhone or iPad to the active internet connection or WiFi.
  2. Go to Settings on your phone.
  3. Then look for General and open it.
  4. Now open Software Update option.
  5. It will list the available iOS 14.0.1 or iPadOS 14.0.1 update.
  6. Click on Download and Install and wait for the process.
  7. After installing and reboot you can enjoy the latest update.

After reboot, you can use your Apple device with the latest iOS or iPadOS update.

You can also install the updates manually with iTunes or Finder. You can use IPSW files if you are planning to install it through your computer.
