Apple seeds watchOS 7.4 Beta 5 with Bug Fixes!

For the past few weeks, Apple is testing the watchOS 7.4 on the Apple Watch. After successfully pushing the fourth beta build of watchOS 7.4 last week, today, Apple releases yet another beta patch for the Apple Watch. The newer beta build aka the watchOS 7.4 Beta 5 Update comes with bug fixes and improvements. Here you can check everything about the watchOS 7.4 Beta 5 Update.

The Apple Watch users are eagerly waiting for the public release of watchOS 7.4. And we can expect the Apple will release the stable update very soon. The latest developer beta is sowing with 18T5190a build number and it measures only 83MB of size for downloading. As always, developers can freely sideload the beta patch on their Apple Watch for testing. The update is limited to the users opted Apple Watch Series 3 or newer.

Talking about the changes, then Apple Watch users can now use the features such as unlocking iPhone with Apple Watch while wearing a Mask. Aside from this feature, the watchOS 7.4 has support of AirPlay 2 for Apple Fitness+. We can also expect that the newer build will improve the overall usage. As for the watchOS 7.4 Beta 5 update, then Apple didn’t mention anything new in the changelog.

Now lets take a look at the steps to update Apple Watch to the newer watchOS 7.4 Beta 5.

Download watchOS 7.4 Beta 5 Profile

Before sideloading the watchOS 7.4 beta 5 to your Apple Watch, make sure to sideload the iOS 14.5 or iPadOS 14.5 Beta 5 on your iPhone or iPad.

  1. At first, you need to login to Apple Developer Program website.
  2. Then, head over to the downloads.
  3. Tap on watchOS 7.4 beta 5 available under featured downloads. Then tap on the download button.
  4. Now install watchOS 7.4 beta 5 profile on your iPhone, then authorize the profile by going to Settings > General > Profiles.
  5. Now restart your iPhone.

Here are some prerequisites, that you can check before installing it on your Apple Watch.

Prerequisites:

  • Make sure that your Apple Watch is charged to at least 50% and connected to the charger.
  • Make sure that your iPhone is connected to Wi-Fi.
  • Make sure that your iPhone is running on iOS 14.5.

After downloading the watchOS 7.4 beta 5 profile, you can head over to the Settings app on the Watch and then tap on Software Update. You can also use your iPhone to update the Apple Watch to the new update, you can open Apple Watch Companion app on iPhone and sideload the latest build on your watch.
