Finally, after a long run of iOS 14.5 beta updates, Apple releases iOS 14.5 RC and iPadOS 14.5 RC. Earlier this month Apple confirmed the iOS 14.5 will be released to the public by this month. And as iOS 14.5 RC and iPadOS 14.5 RC are now available, it looks like Apple will keep its promise. Here we will share what’s new in the iOS 14.5 Release Candidate and iPadOS 14.5 Release Candidate.
Both iOS 14.5 RC and iPadOS 14.5 RC updates are available to eligible iPhones and iPads respectively. If you don’t know RC formerly known as GM or Golden Master build. The Release Candidate is available to beta testers just a few days before the public release. And it comes with the same build number as the public build which releases after RC.
Along with iOS 14.5 RC and iPadOS 14.5 RC, Apple also released macOS Big Sur 11.3 RC, tvOS 14.5 Rc, and watchOS 7.4 RC. Both iOS 14.5 RC and iPadOS 14.5 RC updates come with build number 18E199. The iOS 14.5 Release Candidate is the public build for beta testers. Since it is like a public build, beta users will get the update in a larger size.

iOS 14.5 RC includes the option to unlock iPhone with Apple watch while wearing a face mask, add support for AirTag (lunched in the event), and introduces separate skin tone variations for emoji with couples, Siri adds more diverse voice options, and App Tracking Transparency lets you control which apps are allowed to track your activity across other companies’ apps and websites.
