Motorola is finally stepping up its software game. After rolling out the stable Android 16 update to the Edge 60 Pro, Edge 60 Fusion, and Edge 50 Fusion, the company has now surprised everyone by releasing the much-awaited Android 16 update for the Moto G (2025). The entry-level smartphone in the U.S. has begun receiving its first major software upgrade.
Reddit user (Viodiesel) has shared more details about the rollout. As per the details shared by the user, the update is currently limited to the T-Mobile carrier-locked Moto G (2025). The update carries firmware version W1VK36H.9-12. As it is a major operating system upgrade, it weighs 1.44GB in download size.

Connect to Wi-fi and hotspot with one tap
If your phone and device you want to connect to its hotspot are using the same Google account, you no longer need to enter a password to connect.
Better support for low-energy audio hearing aids
You can now choose to use either your hearing aid’s built-in microphone or your phone’s microphone during voice calls. Additionally, you can adjust the volume of ambient sound captured by the hearing aid’s microphones. These options help enhance call clarity, especially in noisy environments or when your hearing aid’s battery is running low.
Other improvements
