Two weeks ago, we reported that Motorola will release the Android 15 update for Edge 2024. Today, the company has kick-started the official rollout of the anticipated software upgrade in the US. Needless to say, the update bags a whole bunch of new features and enhancements.
Reddit user, u/mmg198643, has confirmed the rollout information. As per the details shared by the user, the update comes with V1UAN35H.98-24 software version and weighs approximately 2.5GB in download size. Please ensure there’s enough storage space available to install the update.
At the time of writing, the rollout is live for the unlocked variant of the Motorola Edge 2024. If you own a carrier-locked variant, your phone will receive the update next week. A Canadian cellular operator, Telus already confirmed that it will release the update on July 23.

In terms of changes, you will get access to the new lock screen customization features, updated quick panel, Gen AI emojis, new emoji stickers, improved connections, and more.
As I mentioned previously, the update is rolling out in phases, so if you want to check if the update is available on your device. You can head over to Settings > System updates > Check for system updates.
Before updating your smartphone make sure to take a backup of important data. Also, charge your smartphone to at least 50%.
