Asus extends the Android 12 update to ROG phones as well. After rolling out the stable Android 12 for Asus Zenfone 8, the OEM launches the Android 12 beta program for ROG Phone 5s. ROG Phone series is a part of Asus and ROG Phone 5s is the first phone in the series which will soon get the stable Android 12. But for now, users can join the ROG Phone 5s Android 12 Beta program for testing.
ROG Phone 5s is the third phone from Asus to get Android 12 Beta. Prior to this, Zenfone 8 and Zenfone 8 Flip have received the Android 12 Beta update already. And if we measure the time between Zenfone 8 Beta and stable update, we can expect stable Android 12 for ROG Phone 5s in the last week of January or by next month.
Asus has an advantage of a short list of phones eligible for Android 12. And so they can invest time to provide a bug free update. Talking about the Android 12 Beta Program for ROG Phone 5s ZS676KS, it is open for a couple of days now. As usual, Asus posted about Android 12 Beta for ROG Phone 5s on their community forum covering all the necessary details.
Since it is a beta program, we don’t recommend users with ROG Phone 5s as the primary device participating in the beta program as it can have bugs or even break the phone which is not common but scary. Well if you don’t mind bugs or using it as a secondary device, you can always consider Android 12 Beta.
There are some pre steps you need to follow to get the Android 12 Beta update. You can follow the prerequisites below.
