Earlier this month Asus released the official Android 12 roadmap for ZenFone and ROG Phone devices. And there are a total of 6 Asus phones that will receive Android 12 starting December 2021. Asus has already opened the Android 12 beta testing for ZenFone 8. And now Asus opens a participation window for Android 12 testing on ZenFone 8 Flip. Android 12 comes with big changes especially the new Material You that completely redesign the aesthetic of Android. The Android 12 is already available for Pixel phones officially. You must have already seen the new UI that is available on Pixel phones with Android 12. But what Google brings on Pixel phones doesn’t matter a lot, because in the end, it is your Phone OEM that decides what changes will come with the new Android update.
Asus stated that most of the Android 12 features are coming to Asus phones with ZenUI and ROG UI. And along with Android 12 changes, there will be additional charges from Asus as well. So, it will be great to see what new features come to Asus phones with Android 12.
How to Signup for Android 12 Beta program on ZenFone 8 Flip
If you are an Asus ZenFone 8 Flip user and want to try out the Android 12 before the stable release, then you can opt for the Android 12 beta program. Yes, Asus has started recruiting beta testers for Android 12 beta on ZenFone 8 Flip.
Recruitment Period:
October 27, 2021 – November 8, 2021 (CST time)
If you want to opt for the Android 12 beta on your ZenFone 8 Flip, then you can follow these instructions.
- Open Settings > System > System Update.
- Click on the Settings/gear icon at the top right corner.
- In the next page you will see Enroll in the Beta Test Program, click on the option to continue.
- Next Agree to terms and privacy policy.
- Now fill in all the required details and then click on Submit.
After submitting the application, you have to wait. The Asus team will go through the application and if you are selected for the program, you will get a confirmation mail from Asus. If you are not selected, you will not get the mail.
Take a full backup prior to updating your Phone. Also, remember that it is a beta update and so there can be bugs as its purpose is to find bugs so that they can fix all those bugs before the final stable release.
Once the recruitment period is over, Asus may release the beta build in the same week. But we don’t have any official date from Asus when the update will be available. But once it starts rolling, we will update the information.
