WhatsApp will soon let you generate your AI Avatar with Meta AI

WhatApp, one of the most widely used messaging platform all over the world, is a feature-rich platform. And it keeps getting better with all the new features that Meta adds with every update. The platform is about to get even better with an upcoming AI feature.

Every company, big and small, is integrating AI into their products. And Meta is among big companies in this contribution. Recently Meta added the Meta AI chat to its platforms, including WhatsApp, letting users chat with AI to get answers to queries and generate images.

According to the latest Wabetainfo coverage, WhatsApp is testing a new beta build with version 2.24.14.13 on Android that includes a new interesting AI feature. And as per the latest beta version, WhatsApp will soon allow users to create their own AI avatar using their selfies.

The source also pointed out that the feature is under development and not accessible to beta testers yet. However, a screenshot preview is available which gives us an idea about how it will work.

The screenshot shows a dedicated page or setting that will include your picture setup, which will be used when you want to generate your AI avatar. You will be asked to setup pictures of yourself, and then you can ask Meta AI to generate images of you.

So where do you ask to create AI images? To generate your avatar, you can type “Imagine Me” in the Meta AI chat. You can also generate images in other chats by entering “@Meta AI imagine me.”

The AI-generated image will look like a 3D animated character resembling your appearance but with other details similar to what portrayed in the screenshot. If you want to delete your selfie or want to set up a new one, you can do that from Meta AI settings.

As for privacy, when you use the AI command in other chats, Meta AI shouldnโ€™t be able to read chats other than the AI command. This will be an optional feature, giving users control over whether they want to opt in. We will have more information when the AI avatar feature is available for beta testers.
