Yes similar to the tabs that you would see in a web browser. You can open different File Explorers using the tabs Currently, you will not be able to move or rearrange the tabs.
This reduces the need for opening multiple instances of the Fiel Explore. With tabs, you can have different folders open within one window itself. You can open a new tab by pressing the Control and T keys together. To close all the tabs one by and finally the File Explorer you can use the Control and W keys short to close tabs one by one and eventually close the File Manager.
Other changes to the File manager also include the revamped sidebar. You now have the Home and OneDrink quick links added to the sidebar. You will also see folders that you frequently open or interact with in the sidebar of your Fiel Explorer.
Suggested Actions When Copying Date or Phone Number
When you now copy or highlight a phone number on Windows 11, you will now be getting a small popup that will show you different actions. This can include actions such as the option to contact the person using Microsoft Teams or to add the number to your phone book.
Now, if you copy a date on your Windows 11 PC, Windows will show you a suggested action to add the date to your calendar by creating an event. These little suggested actions are pretty useful and reduce the number of steps that you’d need to perform a particular task.
Taskbar Refinements
When you have a number of programs open and the Taskbar no longer has any space to display the open programs icons, it will now create an overflow menu and shove all the icons that don’t fit on the taskbar into the new overflow menu. Clicking on the menu will allow you to open or access a particular file or folder.
When you now right-click on the Taskbar, you will finally be able to open or launch the Task Manager. This was a feature that was removed when Windows 11 was officially launched last year in October.
