Vivo Y53s grayscale testers can upgrade to Android 12 based Funtouch OS 12

For the past few months, Vivo is testing its Android 12 based Funtouch OS 12 update on a bunch of Vivo phones. The company has already released the new software for a dozen of eligible models, while there are still a handful of phones pending to receive the new update. The new update is already live for these models – Vivo Y20, Vivo Y20G, Vivo V17 Pro, Vivo V20 Pro, Vivo V21e 5G, Vivo Y19, and some more. Vivo Y53s was announced last year with Android 11, now the device is all set to receive its first major OS upgrade – the Android 12 update. Vivo is currently testing the Android 12 based Funtouch OS 12 via grayscale testing program. And at the moment, the update is not available for everyone, in replying to a user’s query, Vivo’s Funtouch OS has confirmed about the Vivo Y53s Android 12 (grayscale) roll out.

Here’s the reply from Funtouch OS twitter handle to a user asked for Android 12 update on Vivo Y53s.

“Hi, thank you for contacting us. We would like to inform you that the Android 12 beta update for the vivo Y53s handset is under the greyscale test. If there will be no big bugs in the new version, we will increase the release quantity. Hope for your understanding.”

Moving to the changes and features, then it comes with the features like new widgets, nano music player, stickers, small windows, visual design with rounder corners across the system, and other essential features available on Funtouch OS 12 custom skin. Apart from that, you can also expect updated monthly security patch and system-wide improvements. The changelog of the new update is not available to us yet. Now let’s take a look at how you can update your Vivo Y53s to Android 12.

Although, the update is rolling in a staged manner to select users, by still if you own the Vivo Y53s, then make sure that your smartphone is running on the latest software update. As the update is in the testing phase yet, you may encounter some bugs in this build, we don’t recommend updating your primary phone to these early builds of Funtouch OS 12.
