Vivo Y20 receives Android 12 based Funtouch OS 12 update

This month, Vivo released the Android 12 based Funtouch OS 12 update for a bunch of eligible phones, including the Vivo S1 Pro, Vivo V17 Pro, Vivo Y19, and Vivo V20 Pro. And now the company has started rolling out the new update for yet another Y-series smartphone. Vivo rolls out Funtouch OS 12 update for Vivo Y20. The update comes with new features, improvements, and fixes. Here’s everything you need to know about the Vivo Y20 Android 12 update.

Vivo kicks off the new update with the PD2034EF_EX_A_38.15.7 software version number. As it is a major build, it requires a huge amount of data for downloading. This build measures around 3.39GB in size, for quick installation, you can connect your smartphone to the WiFi network. At the time of writing, the update is available in Latin America, and will also be available in other regions in the coming days. The update is already available to some users, here’s a screenshot shared by a Twitter user (@maaurione).

Vivo Y20 Android 12 update comes with features like new widgets, nano music player, stickers, small windows, visual design with rounder corners across the system, and other essential features available on Funtouch OS 12 custom skin. Apart from that, you can also expect updated monthly security patch and system-wide improvements. The changelog of the new update is not available to us yet. As per the Funtouch OS 12 rollout timeline, this is a beta build and rolling in a staged manner, you may encounter some bugs in this build, we don’t recommend updating your primary phone to these early builds of Funtouch OS 12. If you’re using the Vivo Y20, then you can check the new updates from the Settings and then update to the new version. In case the update is not available, you can wait for a few days.
