Samsung temporarily halts One UI 7 update rollout

Just when the wider rollout of One UI 7 was about to start, Samsung has once again disappointed users. The official One UI 7 update that was started rolling out from April 7 has been halted. The reason is said to be a serious bug affecting One UI 7 users.

Samsung commenced the stable One UI 7 rollout on April 7 in South Korea and on April 10 in some other regions for the Galaxy S24 devices, Galaxy Z Fold 6, and Galaxy Z Flip 6. However, just as the update was about to expand globally, Samsung pulled the One UI 7 update from its servers worldwide.

Ice Universe recently reported that many Galaxy S24 users were affected by a serious bug related to the unlocking issue. After updating to One UI 7, many users were unable to unlock their devices normally. Consequently, Samsung pulled the update from its server.

Samsung hasnโ€™t officially released any statement regarding why the update was pulled or when it will resume.

Earlier the issue was spotted on the Exynos model, but many users have also reported the same issue on the Snapdragon variant.

Samsung has already revealed the official One UI 7 rollout plan for different regions. However, this halt could affect the official schedule if not resumed on time.

If youโ€™ve already received the official One UI 7 update on your device and are using it without any issues, youโ€™re in for a treat. However if you havenโ€™t received the update yet, youโ€™ll have to wait for it to resume, which could take an unpredictable amount of time.

The stable One UI 7 update was only released to limited users, so not many users are affected by the issue. If you havenโ€™t received the update on your Galaxy S24, Galaxy Z Fold 6, or Galaxy Z Flip 6, this could be one of the reasons. Now weโ€™ve to wait for the update to resume.
