What is Now Bar on One UI 7?

Now Bar is a simple yet useful feature that displays live notifications from a select number of apps. This UI element is visible on the lock screen, Always on Display, and status bar.

Now Bar Supported Apps

The Now Bar for the time being can display notifications from certain active apps. The apps for the time being are stock ones. It also works with Spotify and will probably work with any music player out there.

Here is a list of apps that currently have support for the Now Bar.

How to Enable or Disable Now Bar Live Notifications

By default, the Now Bar is enabled, But if you want to turn it off completely or just choose select apps, you can follow these steps.

Enable Now Bar One UI 7
  1. Open the Settings app on your Galaxy smartphone.
  2. Scroll and tap on the Lock screen and AOD.
  3. Tap on the Now Bar. You can decide to switch the toggles on or off for Music and Modes & Routines.
  4. If you tap on the Live Notifications option, you can simply switch toggles on or off for the following:
    • Clock
    • Emergency Sharing
    • Interpreter
    • Maps
    • Media Player
    • Samsung Health
    • Samsung Notes
    • Sports from Google
    • Voice Recorder

Apart from just setting it up on the lock screen, you can also add the Now Bar to your Always on Display by following these steps.

  1. Open Settings app.
  2. Scroll and tap on Lock screen and AOD
  3. Now, tap on Always on Display.
  4. Finally, tap on the toggle to switch on or off the Show Now Bar.

Here is what the Now Bar looks like when certain apps are active with Live Notifications. When you plug in your device to charge, it will show you the battery percent, remaining time to charge, and the charging speeds.

Live Sports Notifications via Now Bar

Samsung has partnered with Google to give its sports users score updates to live matches whenever their favorite team or league is playing. The best part about this is you can choose which teams, leagues, and sportsโ€™ live scores you would like to see on the Now Bar and also on the status bar. Follow these steps to enable and choose your favorite teams to be displayed on the Now Bar.

  1. Open the Settings app and tap on Lock Screen and AOD.
  2. Now, tap on Now Bar. Switch the toggle on next to where it says Sports from Google.
  3. Next, tap on it to access the Sports from Google settings.
  4. A pop-up box will now appear. Simply type in your favorite teams and leagues to add it to your Google sports favorites.
  5. Once you see your favorite teams or leagues, simply tap on the follow button.
  6. Now, whenever your favorite team or league matches are going on, you will see the live scores appear on the Lock Screen via the Now Bar and also in your status bar via the Live Notifications pill.
