Oppo A53 gets stable Android 12 based ColorOS 12 Update

Oppo has been actively rolling out the Android 12 beta and the official version to its devices. After rolling out the stable Android 12 for Reno 3 and Reno 3 Pro, Oppo now rolls out stable Android 12 for Oppo A53. Early this month Oppo released an Android 12 roadmap and as per it, the update for Oppo A53 is right on time. Let’s find out more about the Android 12 update for Oppo A53.

Oppo A53 was launched around August 2020 with Android 10. It later received Android 11 as a part of the first major update. Its second major update was due which finally goes live for the device with the stable ColorOS 12 update. Android 12 might be the last update for Oppo A53.

The Android 12 based official ColorOS 12 for Oppo A53 is currently rolling out in India with the target build number F.07. Since it is a major build for Oppo A53, it weighs more than a GB so make sure to download and install the update over WiFi.

Now coming to the interesting part which is the new features and changes that comes with the stable Android 12 update on Oppo A53. The latest ColorOS 12 update brings many features on A53. Some of these features include the new inclusive design, 3D textured icons, adopts Android 12-based widgets, new features for AOD, new privacy controls, and many other features. Apart from these changes, we can expect updated security patch levels and more stability across the system.

As usual there is a requirement to get the new Android 12 update. Your Oppo A53 must be running on C.23 or newer build. Also as a precaution take a full backup of your phone and charge it to at least 50% before updating.

If you are a Oppo A53 user in India you should get the update soon. Or you might have already received the update. The update is rolling out in batches which means it can take some time to reach all the eligible Oppo A53. Sometimes OTA update notifications don’t work, so make sure to check the update manually from software update in Settings.
