The OnePlus Nord 5 smartphone was recently launched in India. It is, no doubt, one of the best devices for its price. 1. The All-New Plus Key

OnePlus Nord 5 is the second device to get the new Plus Key, after the OnePlus 13s. It is served to users as a replacement for the iconic alert slider. However, this switch has various functionalities, aside from controlling the sound profiles.

You can go to Settings > Plus Key > Select the function you want to trigger and hit the “Set” button. You can use the switch for triggering AI Plus Mind, Torch control, Sound Profile control, DND control, and a lot more. Keep experimenting to find the best use case for yourself.

2. AI Plus Mind

Now we are talking about the Plus Key, the Nord 5 comes with a new feature called the “AI Plus Mind”. You can trigger the function either by using the Plus Key (the option must be selected from Settings) or by doing a three-finger swipe up on the screen. It uses AI to detect the content on your screen and makes a quick summary of it. You can access the summary from the Plus Mind application.

It is very useful in cases where you don’t want to read the whole article but still want to know about the summary. It also supports integration to Google Calendar, meaning if your screen content has any event or timeline mentioned, you can directly add that too to your Google Calendar without going anywhere.

3. AI Call Assistant

Another new feature that the Nord 5 gets is the new “AI Call Assistant”. Using this feature, you can translate the calls and summarize the information or the conversation directly from the dialer application. It also supports third-party applications like WhatsApp and Instagram.

In the case of third-party applications, you can access the features by accessing the side-bar. Translations happen in real-time on the screen, and you can access them later on the Notes application (if saved).

4. Clear Voice

Clear Voice is a newly added feature to the OnePlus Nord 5 device. It uses artificial intelligence (AI) to cancel out background noise while you are in a call or a meeting. This helps to ensure crystal-clear communication.

The person on the other side will be able to hear your voice more clearly and better. To turn on this feature, go to Settings > Sounds & Vibration > Scroll down and find the “Clear Voice” option and turn it on.

5. Edge Lighting

Go to Settings > Wallpapers & Style > Edge Lighting. Now select the lighting effect of any colour of your choice and apply. Now, whenever you receive any incoming message, your screen will have a nice breathing color effect on the edges. You can choose to apply this to incoming calls as well. It’s a really simple feature that elevates the user experience.

6. AI Editor in Gallery

OnePlus has filled the stock Gallery or Photos app with tons of new AI-powered features. You get AI Reflection Eraser, AI Clarity Boost, AI Reframe, and a lot more. You can use these features to enhance and improve your images.

You can also take any old or vintage image and make it look new using the AI Clarity Boost feature. The reflection eraser is very handy in images where there is a noticeable amount of reflection visible. You can access these options directly from the Edit option in the Gallery.

7. Live Alerts

Live Alerts is OnePlus’ version of Dynamic Island. And it works pretty well. All you need to do is go to Settings > Notifications & Quick Settings > Live Alerts. Turn on all the features here. You will now be able to see music control in the live alerts, live status of your food delivery from Swiggy & Zomato, live timer, and a lot more.

It’s a nice feature that allows you to perform actions and see the live status of certain apps without accessing or opening the apps directly.

8. Remote PC Control

If you have a Windows PC, this is going to be a very useful feature for you. The Nord 5’s software allows you to take control of your PC and mirror its screen on the display directly without any wired connections.

To access this feature, go to Settings > Connection & Sharing > Remote PC Control. Click on “Add New Device” and follow the on-screen prompt to connect the PC. It works wirelessly; however, the phone and PC must be connected to the same Wi-Fi network.

9. Adaptive Frame Booster

As well all know, the OnePlus Nord 5 is a gaming-oriented smartphone. And therefore, it comes with many software features to elevate your gaming experience as well. The first feature in the list is Adaptive Frame Booster.

You can turn on this feature by opening the game, swiping right from the side of the screen to trigger the game menu, then click Performance Boost > Adaptive Frame Booster. It provides higher frame rates and higher image quality for a better gaming experience. You can play normal 60FPS games in 144FPS using this feature.

10. Hyper Resolution

The next gaming feature in the list is Hyper Resolution. You can trigger this feature by opening the game menu > Performance Boost > Hyper Resolution. These features enhance the sharpness and texture of the in-game graphics. It looks and works pretty well with the battle royale games.
