OnePlus has been teasing the launch of the OnePlus 13s in India for quite some time now. The launch is scheduled to take place on June 5th, which is not far away. It bears many similarities to the OnePlus 13T from China, but hey, it’s not entirely the same device.
I have had the device for quite a few days now, all thanks to the OnePlus Lab program. And while my hands are tied right now, I can still share a few glimpses and highlights of the device.
OnePlus 13s Unboxing
The unboxing experience of the OnePlus 13s is impressive. The box itself has a sleek design, red tone with a subtle shade, and the number ’13’ is printed all over it in a light, almost embossed style, giving it a premium look.
Inside the box, you get the smartphone itself, a nice colour-matched TPU case, an 80W SuperVOOC adapter, a USB-A to USB-C charging cable, a SIM ejector tool, and some paperwork.
Yes, there’s no OnePlus RCC card and the stickers. However, the retail unit may have it.
OnePlus 13s: The First Look
The OnePlus 13s comes in three colour variants in India: Pink Satin, Green, and Black. The one I have with me is the “Pink Satin”. And believe me, it looks absolutely gorgeous. It has a light pink shade throughout the rear panel with a nice matte finish.
The frame is built of metal, whereas the rear is a glass. And being a compact flagship, it not only feels but also looks premium and eye-catching. The in-box silicone case retains the device’s original look and has a OnePlus logo embedded in the centre.
On the top frame of the device, you get an IR blaster and a microphone. On the right-hand side, there’s a power on/off and volume control button. And on the right, there’s an all-new Plus Key – a replacement for the iconic alert slider. On the bottom side, there’s a speaker grill, SIM tray, and microphone hole.
Plus Key – A New Experience
The OnePlus 13s becomes the first device outside mainland China to feature the new Plus Key button. It serves as a replacement for the existing Alert Sider. The Plus Key can be used for various functions such as sound profile control, triggering the camera, triggering the torch, and numerous other things.
There’s also a OnePlus Mind Space, which can be triggered using the Plus Key. I’ll talk about it more in the early impressions post or maybe the full review itself. But for starters, it uses AI to recognise and save things directly from your screen.
That said, the OnePlus 13s looks like a very solid device for now. You get the flagship Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, a dual rear camera setup with a telephoto lens, a 32-megapixel selfie snapper with the support of Auto Focus, an independent Wi-Fi chip along with the support of 5.5G network.
Stay tuned for the initial impressions post to know more!
