OnePlus 13s was recently launched in the Indian market. It is an interesting compact flagship device with top-of-the-line specifications, including a Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, 50-megapixel dual rear cameras, a 5,850mAh single-cell battery, and more.
I’ve been testing the OnePlus 13s for quite some time now, and I’ll will be dropping my full review soon. In the meanwhile, you can check out my first impressions of the gadget. During my use, I’ve found several tips, tricks, and settings that many people don’t know about. So in this post, I’ve compiled a list of the best tips & tricks and hidden settings for the OnePlus 13s.
OnePlus 13s Tips & Tricks, and Hidden Settings
1. Plus Key
OnePlus 13s is the first OnePlus device globally to feature a ‘Plus Key’ instead of the Alert Slider. It’s a multi-functional key. Users can set their function to different options given in the settings, and believe me, it’s very useful in some scenarios. The Plus Key, by default, comes with the preset setting to trigger AI Plus Mind. To change that, go to Settings >> Plus Key >> Choose your desired function >> Set.

2. AI Plus Mind
AI Plus Mind is another first-of-its-kind feature you get on the OnePlus 13s. It uses AI to recognize the screen content and saves the summary and information of the content into the “Mind Space” app. If there are any events on the screen, then it will also allow you to save the event directly to the Calendar app. This can be very useful in situations where you’re in a rush and don’t have the time to manually write down and add summaries and events. You can trigger AI Plus Mind by either pressing the Plus Key or performing a three-finger swipe-up on the screen.

3. AI VoiceScribe
Using the AI VoiceScribe, you can record and translate any calls made from either the stock dialer or any other third-party apps. While being on a network call, you can simply click on the “AI Call Assistant” button and then access “AI Translation” and “AI Call Summary”. You can do the same for third-party apps such as WhatsApp calls by using the sidebar. You can either see the translation in real-time on your screen or save it locally as well.

4. FileDock
Gone are the times when we had to manually download images to share them on other platforms. You can now simply touch and hold on the image, then drag it to the File Dock (in the sidebar) to save it. You can now share the image directly from the File Dock itself. No need to use any third-party apps, as this works across all platforms. You can also drag and drop texts. To turn on File Dock, go to Settings >> Accessibility & Convenience >> Smart Sidebar >> Scroll Down and Find “File Dock” >> Turn it “On”.

5. Quick Launch
This is one of my favorite features of the OnePlus 13s. To turn this on, go to Settings >> Accessibility & Convenience >> Quick Launch. You can now set it for different functions or for opening apps. You can set five corresponding functions or apps. To use it, just touch and hold the fingerprint sensor until the icon appears. You can now slide to the particular function you want to use.

6. Changing Screen Resolution
The OnePlus 13s comes with an FHD+ 2640×1216 screen resolution. But by default, the screen resolution is set to 2344×1080. To change it, go to Settings >> Display & Brightness >> Screen Resolution. Now set it to “High”. You will suddenly realize that your screen is now sharper.

7. Screen Attention
We all know that frustrating moment when we have a touch the screen after every 30 seconds to keep it awake while doing assignments or any other stuff. To address the issue, OnePlus has added a new feature called “Screen Attention”. To turn it on, go to Settings >> Display & Brightness >> Screen Attention. Now, whenever your screen is about to sleep, just look at it and the screen won’t sleep.

8. Global Search
OnePlus 13s’ built-in search feature is very good. You can search for any apps or settings, and it will show you an option to access the app or settings directly. The AI integration in Search is so good that you can even ask a question from any of the documents stored on your device, and it will respond to your query using the related document as a reference, and that too in a fraction of a second.

9. Lock Screen Customization
There are tons of lock screen customization options available on the OnePlus 13s. You can find numerous preset templates and can even customize one according to your liking. Go to Settings >> Wallpaper & Style >> More themes. You will now be able to see tons of preset templates for the lock screen. Just click on the one you want to apply and then click on the “Apply” button. You may customize the elements from the templates as well.

10. AI Editor in Gallery
OnePlus has added tons of AI editor features in the Gallery app. There is AI recompose, AI eraser, AI details boost, AI reflection eraser, etc. To access them, head over to Gallery >> select any image you wish to edit >> click on “Edit” >> “AI Edit”. You will find all the options here. Just click on the feature you want to use, and boom, your image will now be enhanced.

Closing Lines
So these were the top tips and tricks you can apply and use on your new OnePlus 13s. Some of these features are so damn good, that I wonder why the brand has not marketed it enough. Using these settings will elevate your user experience with the device.
